AVN – AEE

Ciao! This week AVN is upon us .I’m going to call it AVN because that’s what I remember calling the Adult Industry Expo held once a year in Las Vegas , Nevada . I’m not sure when it changed over to AEE . I’m going to recall some of my own personal time at the Expo and share some tips and tricks of what worked for me during this crazy fun time of The Porn Oscars….. I’ve always said that this is the week and on the awards night we are all validated for our hard work we put into our productions, content, branding and image .Why is  this validation among our peers so important? To some of us it’s not. To others it’s their entire existence.  To have your movie nominated and your scenes  is something that causes some ladies to have a full on panic attack, or its complete  excitement.  Me personally I didn’t really care so much. My reputation and bank account were way more important to me. The directors and agents were just as bad, pitting the ladies against each other  and saying “oh if you win your movies will sell more and you will make more money and get the box cover! YOU could even get a contract “I did win a few awards and my gratitude has always been directed to my fans . So why are we  even going to the AVN show? It’s about your fans. It’s the one week that fans get to meet us in person. They get an autograph and photo with their favorite star  plus it great for talent to network and sell merchandise .The lines and days are long. I remember signing for a MINIMUM of 8-9 hours those days. I always did my own hair and make up. I also bought my own coffee pot TIP 1!  (Hello Kitty of Course)!  Chopper was at every show, and you never saw me without a bottle of water. I had a bag of snacks, and a bag of goods that I always packed. Being  in a casino for a week straight you’d be surprised at how much money you save bringing just a few things from home that can treat a variety of things that can pop up. You may or may not have time to run out and get stuff or send someone so trust me if you’re driving pack a few of these extra things and if you’re flying, then you can stop at CVS or Walgreens and get these extras super easy. It will save you time and money.

Before my tips here’s my brief story of my first AVN: It was Jan 2000 and I was signing with Teri Weigal, Nikki Tyler and Julia Ann! So much fun! Teri was so kind. She showed me how to sign my name. I mean I didn’t think I’d be signing autographs my first show So why would I need to know how to sign “Tera Patrick” and then come up with all these cute sayings with it?  So naive I was..Over the years I took turns signing at my own booth TeraVision and the Vivid booth. I can remember so many women whom I looked up to just being so kind . Jeanna Fine, Sharon Mitchell, Amber Lynn, Chloe, and Janine.. I was so starstruck when I met Janine  for the first time.. I still am! She will always my favorite. She’s just so fierce and beautiful . hope your AVN kicks ass and you gals and guys make TONS of money! I hope it’s a positive experience for you and I hope what I’ve done and learned along the way helps a bit!! Have fun XO Tera

  1. BE NICE!! I can’t stress this enough! I know it’s freakin hard especially after a long ass day but the new girls could use kindness.  Fans often travel so far just to meet you and It’s humble of them to approach you after waiting in line so if they say something annoying just smile and try to deflect. They might just be nervous!
  2. YourHealth! Drink water! Buy a case at CVS and keep it in your room , get some electrolytes or Zinc tabs for immunity . You could also put a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in your water bottle and drink that first thing when you wake up. You’re coming in contact with so many people so keep your immune system strong! Wet Wipes (I prefer these to hand sanitizer . Kind Bars , protein bars, nuts, dried fruit, whole grain crackers, string cheese, tuna kits, apples, bananas, these don’t need to be refrigerated (the cheese yes) and can tuck into your bag /purse easily for a pick me up… Don’t starve yourself! At least every 3 hours you should drink a bottle of water and have a snack. I know it’s hard to take breaks but 15 minutes to recharge every few hours is necessary to keep you going, your mood up and your body happy  so it’s worth it!!
  3. Bring a small coffee pot if you can / electric tea kettle if your room already has one AWESOME!! Some don’t. I use mine to make my own coffee in the AM, tea at night and sometimes soups and stuff when I’m on the road. You can get one for cheap at CVS too and leave it behind if needed I mean hey you’ve probably spent way more money on something you didn’t need and I can assure you that after long ass days NOT wanting to go down and stand in line for coffee in the AM and having a nice cup of hot tea before bed is worth the 20$ you will spend on one at CVS to get you through the week!! I also brought a heating pad with me on those trips but I like one on my back and feet after long days and they fold up easy in your carry on or suitcase.
  4. safety stuff : REMOVE your tags off your checked luggage as soon as you get your bag. Your info is on there and who knows how many people will handle your bags as you make your way into the hotels, cabs, or as you’re waiting to check in. I’m not trying to scare you, it’s just a simple thing you can do to keep your info to yourself:} I usually request that NO calls be put through to my room, I always get TWO keys and give one to a TRUSTED friend. Use the SAFE to store your Money and any other valuables.
  5. Presentation of your table /booth is everything , also being organized! Pack sharpies in Black, Blue, Red, Silver and Gold. I find those to be the most requested colors. I like to keep all my 8×10’s in a binder inside clear plastic sheets. The plastic sheets look nice and while not cheap keep your 8×10’s from bending, tearing, fingerprints, and just look nice and neat. Plus I find that fans appreciate it. Keeping your pictures contained in a binder is not only more organized but it allows fans to neatly go through and select pictures without messing up your table! LOL That’s maybe the OCD in me but I find it’s worked really well for me all these years. Also having 4×6 cards to give away with your URL’s and what you want to promote is nice and easy to carry around. Don’t carry too much merchandise and if they ask for something you don’t have on hand direct them to your sites!!!
  6. Things that I always pack and can fit in a Ziplock bag:
  7. Vicks Vapor rub Great for sore muscles, tired feet, masks any smells if you put a bit under your nose, and if you feel a bit cold or fluish rub some on your feet and put socks on you will feel better…
  8. Take advantage of any and all the FREE resources during the show.
  9. I’m sure I could go on and on but in a nutshell have a great show!! Tweet me @tera1patrick if you have any questions !!

Crabby in Krabi – The Rocky Part of our Thailand trip

Krabi by The Sea .. Leaving Chiang Mai in the beautiful mountains it was time to spend the last two weeks of our Thailand trip by the sea. For months Alberto and I watched our favorite YouTuber Paddy Doyle document his entire journey through every providence in Thailand and we couldn’t wait to see the breathtaking seaside for ourselves. If you’ve been reading about my trips you know what I mean when I say there’s a “dip in the trip “.. This is usually the part where I’m not feeling it or enjoying myself . August is the monsoon season in Thailand so expect a lot of rain . We arrived to Krabi airport late around nine-thirty P.M , and were bombarded with driver’s who insisted on taking us to our hotel as there were no other options .. It was a bit unnerving , being crammed into a van with ten other people , completely dark , pouring rain with a two hour ride to the other side of the island since our hotel was the furthest away but here we go! Low Tides and Limestone cliffs We finally arrived to our Hotel http://krabihomeresort.com and it was going to be sweet relief to climb into bed after a day of traveling. A staff member (BLESS HIM) waited for us to arrive (at midnight no less)  had an umbrella , change (for our shuttle driver ) and big smile on his face as he carried our luggage up the hill to our bungalow. Morning brought us overcast skies but warm smiles from the wonderful staff at our resort and a good breakfast . We’d have to wait until tomorrow to get a longtail boat since the forecast was rain and rough seas. We decided to explore our beach area Tubkaak , and spend the day relaxing and eating some good home cooked Thai food.. The tide was low so I was able to Vlog and walk quite a bit. The sunset was stunning.. Hong Island (Koh Hong) Our hostess at our resort booked a longtail boat so we set of to Hong Island . It takes about 20 minutes and is an easy quick day trip . Located in the Thanbok Kharanee National Park  the beach is divided into two sections. The landing spot for the longtail boats is where you pay 400 thai baht to enter the national park . We climbed the 420 steps to the Hong Island Viewpoint which was quite a workout but you’re rewarded with the most breathtaking view of this magical island . The white sand beach is super soft ,clear, and warm. We took some beautiful photos then got back on the longtail boat so we could swim in the Hong lagoon .You have to pass through a narrow rock opening to enter the lagoon but it’s another world . The towering limestone cliffs , and turquoise water are breathtaking … Have your hotel pack a  lunch or grab food and snacks if you plan to spend the day on the island or boat.  I don’t recall if there’s a shop to get food or snacks once you get to the island.. A watertight beach bag is a must to protect your clothes, phone, and anything you bring with you onto the beach.I recommend checking with your local host also for the weather since it can change rapidly. We were having the sweetest sea time here , so why did I have to suggest we see something else… Rocky times in Railay So here’s where our trip gets rocky.. Railay Beach was a quick trip from Ao Nang the main hub and starting point  of Krabi . After 3 days I thought let’s go see another part of the Island! It’s not that I get bored (well sometimes) . It’s that I want to see as much as I can when I’m in a new destination. So we drove the two hours to the Ao Nang pier , then a 10 minute longtail boat ride and finally we were towed into the Railay Beach resort and spa by a tractor . My first impression of Railay beach west wasn’t a good one. The scenery and landscape is pretty but the beach itself was dirty. Or should I say .. messy ? Walking the beach path towards our resort I couldn’t help but feel like we stepped into some some kind of trap. Tourist trap maybe ? Weed shops, fast food and a few tiny cafes lined the concrete path along the trash filled beach…. Eager to escape the loud techno music and the sound of crocs shuffling against sandy concrete we checked into our room and planned out our next three days… What the heck were we going to do for three days here ? Our resort was big and although outdated in terms of aesthetics three big crystal clear pools called out to me so I could cool off in the scorching humid heat and watch the moneys squabble over snacks they’d steal off of tourists breakfasts plates LOL We found one cafe that served good Pad Thai and wasn’t blaring music 24-7 so that’s where we enjoyed our meals . On our way back from the cafe that first night my husband decides to stop by and inquire about rock climbing tours and signs us both up ! Why not! Those limestone cliffs look easy to climb AND what else is there to do around here! No I’ve never rock climbed in my life but in my Kevin Hart voice “you’re gonna learn today! You’re gonna learn what rock climbing is today ! And here’s how it went .. Phra Nang Beach Shadowrock climbing met us bright and early at Phra Nang Beach along with hundreds of other  tourists also geared up and ready to scale the gorgeous cliffs. I went first and let me tell you what you might already know ; ROCK CLIMBING IS HARD . Mad respect because

X3 Expo in Los Angeles

My first X3 Expo ! Hey guys it’s pouring rain at home here in Italy so I’m catching you all up on my travels ! Christmas 2023 and the New year brought me back to Los Angeles . I stayed an extra three weeks to attend my very first X3 Expo presented by XBIZ . XBIZ is one of the two main B2B and award shows in the Adult industry . I had the privilege of hosting the XBIZ Awards with comedienne Orlando Jones in 2013.  X3 Expo Details The X3 Expo http://X3.show takes place in Hollywood , California mid January at the Hollywood Palladium and features Pornstars (past and present ), webcam models , and creators /influencers from the adult industry. The set up was definitely more “chaotic” compared to the booths and tables that are provided at the AVN show . The Palladium is a nightclub so our setups were bar tables and barstools and we were packed pretty tight together but as pornstars we’re kinda used to that LOL Honestly it was pretty funny for me because I knew literally no one! I have no idea who I signed next to those two days but across from me were my friends Fleshlight http://www.fleshlight.eu/products/tera-patrick . X3 Expo Friends !! Well it turns out I did find my friends after all !! One of my favorite ladies in the industry Lacie Lennon  http://linktr.ee/misslacylennon always comes to see me for a hug and I love talking to her. She’s super smart. I love how she’s handled herself and her career . Tommy Gunn was one of my favorite performers to work with . Such a kind and humble guy. My good friend Gege who’s always traveled with me and did my very first expo in Los Angeles wanted to say hello to Ember Snow who’s always stunning and sweet . I don’t do awards shows anymore but after some time it was great to stay in LA and meet up again with my fans . I don’t think I had made an LA appearance in almost 10 years! Unless you catch me at a CVS or Thai town … It was fun and thank you to my wonderful LA friends and fans who made it out !! XO Tera
